Prague’s Klementinum Library Is Considered The Most Beautiful In The World.

There are amazing works of art that can be seen all over the world. You can visit the Mona Lisaat the Louvre, in France. Or you can head to Italy to check out the breathtaking works of Michelangelo. The wonderful thing about art is that, if taken care of, it can last the test of time. The immortality of art can continuously inspire people. Just like Michelangelo’s work in the Sistine Chapel, entire structures can become a masterpiece. Located in Prague, is one of these amazing works of art. The Klementinum Library is an extraordinary work of perfection that can be considered the most beautiful library in existence.

Located in Prague, this library is an absolutely jaw-dropping work of art.

Originally opened in 1722, it started out as a part of the Jesuit University; a college founded by the Catholic church. This particular building was once the third largest Jesuit universities in the world.

The seventeenth-century Baroque architecture is simply breathtaking.

The spiraling columns and cathedral ceilings give a dramatic feeling of wealth to those who visit. You can imagine it coming straight out of a fairy tale.

Every single detail was done to perfection.

The ceiling frescoes were painted by the incredible, Jan Hiebl. He also painted the figures of the Jesuit saints, whom the university was founded by.

The ceilings aren’t the only thing of beauty in this library.

In the center of the library are a series of globes. They are a collection of geographical and astronomical globes that the Clementine Jesuits did themselves.

This astounding library is home to more than 20,000 books!

In 1781, the Biblioteca Nationala was founded by director Karel Rafael Ungar. He discovered a very rare, one-of-a-kind, collection of historical books written in Czech.

This astounding library is home to more than 20,000 books!

The National Library has recently given some of its books to Google Books.

Some of the world’s most famous works of literature will soon be able to be read online. It’s an undeniable gift to book lovers everywhere!

If you’re ever in Prague, the Klementinum Library should be on your bucket list!

Not only are its glorious ceilings worth looking at, its architecture is a work of art in itself. So, if you’re a book lover like me, please check this place out. I’m certainly dying to go.
